Like I was saying Sunday night

FanHouse asks today:
Patriots cornerback Ellis Hobbs will undergo surgery this week for a sports hernia and groin injury suffered earlier in the season, Alex Marvez of Fox Sports is reporting.

That raises a few questions. First, if this injury was suffered earlier in the season, why wasn't Hobbs listed on the Patriots' Super Bowl injury report?

Secondly, and more importantly, why was a guy who has a groin injury matched one-on-one with Plaxico Burress on the Giants' game-winning touchdown pass? That's Hobbs on the right in the above photo, watching as he's just been burned for the touchdown that ended the Patriots' undefeated season. Couldn't Bill Belichick have come up with a coverage scheme that didn't match the Giants' No. 1 receiver with an injured player?
which is what I asked immediately after the game:
Yes, we should be bitter about the coaches leaving Ellis Hobbs out in single man coverage against Burress with no safety help over the top.
