The Law of Coughlin

I'm done mourning the Super Bowl. I knew it was over when I heard that Spagnuolo was staying with the team, with a big bump in pay, and I was happy for Giants fandom.

Not that I'd trade teams, nor even crotchety Belichick for (less) grouchy Coughlin.

But Coughlin has made his mark on the sport, and perhaps all professional team sports. Rather than resting one's best players once playoff seeding has been locked in, we will see more coaches playing their best players as a confidence builder and competition sharpener for the playoffs.

Of course, the law needs to be tested. It may only work for teams who hate playing at home because their fans are so unsupportive.
