Writers from around the country with good memories or seach engines are reminding Don Shula about some tampering charges in 1969.
As Associated Press columnist Jim Litke points out, Shula was still the coach of the Baltimore Colts at the end of the 1969 season when then-Miami owner Joe Robbie signed him to a contract. The league charged the Dolphins with tampering, and awarded their 1971 first-round draft pick to the Colts.
