Can the middle class be defined regionally by median home prices?

If so, then there is a $1.7 mil home price difference between the middle classes of Sioux City and LaJolla. Put another way, the median price in the California city was 14 times that of the Iowan town.

I'd guess that there's only a $70,000 median income difference, based on this 2005 copy of HUD data (couldn't find the original ... from Fannie Mae). But that's only 3 times the difference.

This score remains to be settled.
